CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — More than a year after a man was found dead along an Indiana County road, a Johnstown man pleaded guilty to killing him.

Justin Green, 42, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in Cambria County court Wednesday, according to our media partners at the Tribune-Democrat . Green faces a sentence of 14 to 28 years in prison, his public defender Michael Filia said.

The body of Daryl Vincent Lee, 44 of Johnstown was found along Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township in the early morning of July 14, 2023. An autopsy found that Lee died from a gunshot wound.

An investigation led state police to Green who had worked with Lee at three landscaping jobs in the Johnstown area the day prior. Green initially told troopers he dropped Lee off at his home but later admitted he drove Lee across town in his truck to collect money from a customer after finishing the landscaping jobs.

Green then confessed that he shot Lee with a shotgun before covering his body with a shirt and tools in the passenger seat of his truck, according to a criminal complaint. Green and his girlfriend Brooke Pullin along with their child then took a trip to Maryland with Lee’s body allegedly still in the vehicle.

According to the complaint, Green got rid of the shotgun in the Potomac River while in Maryland and dumped Lee’s body along Route 403 when they returned home later that night.
