According to the original charges, Wetzel allegedly pointed a .44 magnum pistol at a family member’s head and stomach and made threats to “smoke her.” However, during the court appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 2, Centre County Assistant District Attorney Matt Metzger said that evidence was presented that showed Wetzel allegedly pointed the gun at the victim’s head and attempted to fire the pistol twice.

Wetzel’s full charges have yet to be announced, as the court granted a one-week continuance. He will remain in the Centre County Prison after his bail was denied due to concerns for public safety. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9.
