“I would like to thank the jury for their attention and dedication in our pursuit of justice for the victims of Mr. Merringer and to Trial Deputy Christina DeMarco-Breeden and Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Shawn Reynolds who dedicated countless hours to ensure Mr. Merringer answered for the heinous acts he committed against these children for decades.” District Attorney Molly Metzgar said.

According to court documents, these charges stem from incidents as early as the mid-90s to as late as 2010. Merringer was charged in 2019.

“This conviction is a reminder that crimes on the children of Somerset County will not be tolerated,” Metzgar said.
