    Over $2M to lower energy costs for Central Pennsylvania farmers, small business owners

    PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) has announced that he’s secured over $4,000,000 in funding for Pennsylvania farmers and small business owners.

    In total, $4,537,255 will go towards lowering lower energy costs for farmers and small businesses. The twenty awards will help businesses and farms purchase and install solar photovoltaic systems.

    Those systems will help convert captured solar energy into electricity to power machines and operations and save thousands of dollars each year. Several Central Pennsylvania farms and businesses will see grants including ones in Centre, Clearfield, Huntingdon, Somerset, Cambria and Blair County.

    Here are the local recipients:

    • Centre County (Unionville): $648,800 to Charles L. Fisher
    • Clearfield County (Morrisdale): $49,894 to GeoTech Engineering Inc.
    • Huntingdon County: $483,300 to Ambassador Towers LLC
    • Somerset County (Meyersdale): $610,420 to Pax-Terra LLC
    • Cambria County (Ebensburg): $165,773 to Ebensburg Animal Hospital Inc.
    • Blair County (Altoona): $56,024 to McCartney’s Inc.

    Here are the other recipients:

    • Montour County (Danville): $329,831 to Denis Beachel
    • Indiana County (Indiana): $152,600 to McNaughton Bros Inc.
    • Clinton County (Loganton): $479,161 to Schrack Farms LP
    • Sullivan County (Dunshore): $387,300 to Unity Lab Corp.
    • Bradford County (Troy): $306,150 to Bruce King Jr.
    • Lawrence County (Ellwood City): $29,080 to Mr. B’s Lawn Service Inc.
    • Lebanon County (Lebanon): $200,704 to Talview Dairy LLC
    • Berks County: $79,000 to Philip Wise
    • Franklin County (Fayetteville): $49,810 Mann Plumbing and Heating LLC
    • Mifflin County: $81,142 Shree Sai Nivas LLC
    • Lancaster County: $81,216 to Joeseph Nolt
    • Lancaster County (Elizabethtown): $184,050 to Bellaire Farms LLC
    • Berks County (Bernville) $66,250 to Peter G. Reifsnyder Inc.
    • Lebanon County: $96,750 to Eagle Rental Inc.

    The funding comes from the U.S Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Energy for America (REAP) program , made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act.
