CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Ridgelines Language Arts, a Centre County nonprofit, is among 112 organizations nationwide to receive a $117,000 ArtsHERE grant.

The grant, part of a pilot program from the National Endowment for the Arts and South Arts, aims to enhance arts engagement for underserved communities.

Ridgelines will use funding to expand its language arts programs, which serve marginalized groups across central Pennsylvania. This grant will help the organization strengthen its outreach and recruit new teaching artists.

The program, launched by the NEA and five regional arts organizations, seeks to bridge gaps in arts participation for communities often limited by geography, race, and other factors. Ridgelines, now in its eight year, will invest the funds into professional development for its teaching staff and further support arts participation in local communities.

“We are honored to be a part of this national initiative,” Abby Minor, Ridgelines’ founding co-director said. “This funding is a significant step toward empowering voices in our region.”
