ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Residents of the 79th Legislative District will have the chance to learn about Pennsylvania’s firearm laws at a free seminar hosted by state Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Altoona).

The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Altoona Grand Hotel.

Schmitt encouraged both gun owners and non-gun owners to attend, saying it’s important for everyone to stay informed about the state’s laws. “This is a great opportunity for residents to get clarity on their rights and responsibilities when it comes to firearms,” Schmitt said.

Jim Stoker, from the Firearms Owners Against Crime Institutes for Legal, Legislative and Education Action, will be the feature speaker. Stoker will provide an overview of Pennsylvania gun laws, with an emphasis on concealed carry regulations.
