    Johnstown Tomahawks, Generals to host military event with former Penguins players

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Johnstown Tomahawks announced they will be partnering with the Johnstown Generals for an annual military appreciation event.

    The event, which is scheduled for Nov. 9, will feature members of the Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni Associations for a pregame starting at 4 p.m. at the 1st Summit Arena. Alumni attending include Colby Armstrong, Ken Wregget, Francois Leroux, JS Aubin and Greg Malone. They will be joined by Steve Carlson, Christian Hanson and Mark Malone.

    The 4 pm game will feature the former NHLers as they play and coach against members of the Johnstown Generals Veterans hockey team. Proceeds from the events will go towards the veterans hockey team.

    “The opportunity to skate with these guys is amazing. The Tomahawks and the Penguins have both done great things for our organization and we only continue to grow each year,” Current Generals player John Kovac said.

    The former Penguins players will also be sticking around in Johnstown for the Tomahawks game that is scheduled to follow the pregame events. Tickets for the military event, as well as all home games, can be found by clicking here.
