BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two men are facing charges after one of them allegedly bragged to his ex about the tools that were stolen earlier this month.

Galen Lee Garrison, 48, of Frostburg, Md., and Cory Joseph Crabtree, 33, of Cumberland, Md. were charged after an investigation into a theft of multiple power tools from a person’s garage Oct. 16.

According to a criminal complaint, the homeowners posted photos of the stolen tools, asking for anyone on Facebook to watch for them being posted for sale. Garrison’s ex then allegedly reached out to the victims saying she thinks Garrison may have the tools. “He actually bragged to me about it,” she wrote in the message, according to police.

State troopers from Maryland were able to assist with a search warrant of Garrison’s residence where a number of the stolen tools were found. Troopers noted that Garrison agreed to speak with them at state police barracks in Bedford.

According to charges, Garrison admitted to breaking into the garage with Crabtree, saying Crabtree told him they were his tools and he wanted to get them back from a “crazy lady.” Investigators noted that Garrison claimed this was all Crabtree’s idea and he followed his instructions.

Garrison went on to claim they were only in the garage for a minute or two and after leaving, Crabtree took photos of the items to sell. He claimed to investigators that Crabtree sold a bulk of the tools for $300 and he had some of the other tools and he didn’t know how to return them to the victims.
