PATTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ) — Residents of Patton Township in Centre County can expect a mosquito control operation on Thursday, Sept. 5, as part of ongoing efforts to curb high populations of adult mosquitoes in the area.

The Centre County Mosquito Disease Control (MDC) Program, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Mosquito-Borne Disease Program, will conduct the operation. The spray will target specific residential and recreational areas within the township where elevated mosquito activity has been confirmed.

A truck-mounted ultra-low volume (ULV) spray will be used to deliver a quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.

Roy Hurd, a technician with the Mosquito Disease Control Program, will oversee the operation, which is licensed under DEP business license BU 6896.
