Car broadsides Milford, CT, firetruck

While assisting with one vehicle in trouble, a Milford fire truck was hit by another car on Saturday morning.
It began when the Milford Fire Department dispatched its Squad 1 firetruck to State Route 15 near Exit 55A, where there was a car fire.
Upon arrival, Squad 1 was positioned to block the traffic from the rescue area.
At some point after that, a four-door sedan crashed into the passenger side of Squad 1.
No injuries were reported at the scene among the firefighters or after the driver of the car was evaluated by medical responders.
The accident prompted the Milford Fire Department to post a note on its Facebook page reading: "This is why we have trucks blocking crews who are working in front of them."
