Fatal hit and run reported in Waterbury

Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Waterbury are investigating a fatal crash Sunday involving a pedestrian.

They say they're treating the case as a hit-and-run.

Around 6:30 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the area of 97 Cherry Street.

When they arrived, they found the victim, a 22-year-old male, lying in the roadway.

He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives say they have identified a possible suspect vehicle as a four door beige/gold Chevy Cruz which may have damage to the front
passenger side fender.
