East Hartford police investigate murder-suicide

East Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in East Hartford are investigating the deaths of a man and woman in what they have classified as a murder/suicide.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday night to a home on Hilltop Farms Road.

That's where they found the bodies of Upma Sharma, 54, and Naresh Kumar, 62.

Police say both died from gunshot wounds.

A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The two were married for several years.

A third adult in the home at the time was not injured and no children were in the home at the time.

According to police, some sort of dispute took place prior to the shootings.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say there is no threat to the public.
