WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury Police arrest a shooting suspect who allegedly had a ghost gun in their possession after a shooting.

Police say Edwin Henriquez-Vasquez, 30, of Waterbury, allegedly shot a 24-year-old man around 1 a.m. Monday morning, after a dispute inside the Stanley Billar Club on West Main Street.

State Police took Henriquez-Vasquez, after he crashed on I-84 shortly after the shooting.

Troopers found Henriquez-Vasquez in possession of an illegal polymer 80 (ghost gun) with a high capacity magazine.

At this time, the victim is considered to be in critical but stable condition.

Henriquez-Vasquez cannot possess a gun legally in Connecticut due to a previous conviction, according to Waterbury Police.

Henriquez-Vasquez is being charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree assault, altering or removing identification marks on a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, illegal sale or transfer of a pistol or revolver, illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.

Henriquez-Vasquez is being held on a $1.5-million bond.
