HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey takes exception to one of Connecticut's new welcome signs.

Governor Healey, in a nod to Massachusetts' history with basketball, makes some adjustments to a photo of Connecticut's welcome sign that dubs the state as the Basketball Capital of the World.

She crosses out Connecticut and writes in Massachusetts while also crossing out Governor Ned Lamont's name and writing hers in instead.

Massachusetts is home to the NBA record setting 18-time champion Boston Celtics, as well as the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.

The sign is celebrating Connecticut's identity with UConn's six NCAA national titles in men’s basketball and 11 in women’s basketball.

Connecticut installed the signs mid-week to reflect various aspects of state pride.
