THOMPSON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are working with the Thompson Fire Department to investigate a suspicious fire that's left a person critically injured.

Both State Police and the fire department says they responded to the fire at a home on Quaddick Town Farm Road around 11 p.m. Thursday night.

The fire had fully engulfed the house and garage.

It took several hours during the overnight for fire crews to get enough water from area fire departments and Quaddick State Forrest to put out the fire and its hot spots.

The fire, deemed suspicious, remains under investigation.

There's no update on how the burn victim in the fire is currently doing.
