    New London residents killed in fiery Groton crash

    GROTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police identify the two New London residents killed in a fiery crash on I-95 in Groton on Friday night.

    The driver of the Dodge RAM 1500 involved in the crash is identified as Timothy Montaque, 36, and the passenger is identified as Lori Lynn Botero, 34.

    The RAM pickup truck was traveling on I-95 Northbound near Exit 87 when it went off I-95 around 9:21 p.m., near an exit ramp, through a guardrail, and into a tree. The truck burst into flames after hitting the tree.

    Both Montaque and Botero were pronounced dead at the scene.

    What led up to the crash remains under investigation.
