BOZRAH, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are investigating a deadly Wednesday morning motorcycle crash in the eastern Connecticut town of Bozrah.

Troopers responded to the area of Bishop and Bear Hill Roads around 1:37 a.m., where they found a motorcycle crash off the road.

The operator of the 2008 Harley FXB, identified as Michael Austin, 42, of Yantic, didn't make a right turn in the roadway properly, went into the opposing lane, struck a rocky embankment, and landed in the woods when he became separated from his Harley.

Austin was taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment of life-threatening injuries but he was later pronounced dead.

State Police say he was identified through investigative efforts and a fingerprint match at the Office of the Connecticut Medical Examiner.
