Helene fundraiser planned at New Haven Bear's Smokehouse BBQ

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A charitable restaurant franchise is looking to raise money to support victims of Hurricane Helene in the south, specifically in the Asheville, North Carolina area.

The fundraiser is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday October 9, at Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ on James Street in New Haven.

Organizers say the event will include music, performances, a silent auction, dinner, and drinks.

Bear's, in partnership with the World Central Kitchen, is distributing free hot meals to the community in Asheville, North Carolina, where the restaurant has a location.

Bear's has also setup a special Facebook page that accepts donations.
