BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut's Office of Inspector General is taking over the investigation of an officer-involved shooting in Bridgeport.

Bridgeport Police say they responded early Saturday morning to the report of an emotionally disturbed person in the 100 block area of Terry Place.

Police say a man, identified as Huntley Jackson, 45, of Bridgeport, displayed a knife during the encounter with police.

    That's when officers shot Jackson.

Jackson is now receiving care for critical injuries at Saint Vincent's Hospital.

Jackson is under arrest for criminal attempt at murder, first-degree assault, assault on a public safety officer, second degree threatening, interfering and resisting arrest, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

His bond is set at $1,000,000.

The State Office of Inspector General is taking over the investigation, per usual when law enforcement discharges their weapon in Connecticut.

I read a comment that said, "If he's so critical, how they get a good mugshot of him in his hospital gown then?" 😂 Obviously, it's not his first RODEO, Ma!
