Teen in serious crash in Groton dies

Groton, Conn./WTIC Radio - One of four teenagers injured in a crash early Monday has died.

Police in Groton say the crash occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on Fishtown Road.

The deceased teen has been identified as Carson Wilson, 14, of Groton.

Investigators say the SUV in which the teens were riding struck a tree.

All were taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

Police were made aware of the crash when an iPhone alert from a phone of one of the victims was routed to Groton 911.

The crash is still under investigation.

So sorry for the loss of this young man’s life. 14 is just unacceptable. Prayers for his parents, family, and friends.The iPhone alert possibly saved others. I fell down my stairs knocking myself out upon slamming the wall. My watch, too, dialed 911.
