    Missing Newport News man found dead; police open homicide investigation

    A missing Newport News man was found dead in Hampton on Wednesday, according to police. Now, they’re investigating his death as a homicide.

    Officers found the remains of Tyreek Lemar Vincent, 22, in the area of Dafia Drive in Hampton, police say.

    When police reported him as missing, they said he was last seen on Friday, September 20, 2024, around 32nd Street and Chestnut Avenue. He was considered endangered because of circumstances surrounding his leaving that pose concerns for his safety, police said.

    Police say a tip they got during the missing person’s investigation of Vincent led them to the area in Hampton where they found him.
