    61-year-old motorcyclist dead after crash in Simsbury

    SIMSBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Simsbury police Thursday identified the 61-year-old killed in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday.

    The motorcyclist was identified as James Ferreira. Police said he was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

    According to police, the crash happened at the intersection of Hartford Avenue/Route 189 and Main Street in Tariffville just after 6 a.m.

    Ferreira was driving a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle at the time it collided with a 2020 Ford F350 driven by a 43-year-old. The other driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

    The Simsbury Police Department and North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad are investigating the collision.
