Man charged for shooting woman in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A man was located and taken into custody after shooting a woman last night in Hartford.

Friday night at 9:48, the Hartford Police Department was notified via ShotSpotter of a gunfire in the area of 481 Wethersfield Ave. At the location, a woman in her thirties was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to a hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators rapidly determined a suspect and located 41-year-old Eliezer Carmona walking two blocks away on Stedman St.

Officials were able to recover the firearm used in the shooting, and Carmona is charged with assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, stealing a firearm, and robbery in the first degree.
