    First responders eat for free Thursday at the Quarry Walk in Oxford

    OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Restaurants at the Quarry Walk are offering free meals to first responders and their families Thursday, as a thank you for their work during Sunday’s historic flash flooding.

    “We so much appreciate all first responders and their families for everything you do every day, and especially all you have done and continue to do to help those impacted by Sunday night’s flash flooding and the devasting aftermath,” Quarry Walk posted on Facebook .

    “The community is coming together, and we want to show our appreciation by treating you and your families to dinner,” they said.

    First responders and their families can eat for free at Sitting Duck and Char & Lemon on Thursday, Aug. 11.

    The Quarry Walk plans to have live music on Center Rock Green Thursday night.

    They are also hosting a public Rebuild Expo on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Business owners or people with helpful equipment are asked to attend and offer what they can to help a neighbor.
