Police said the suspect ran from a Corey Road home after the homeowner confronted him while trying to steal a package containing a new iPad.

He left the package and was seen getting into a dark Honda with tinted windows parked down the street.

Officers located the vehicle on Clintonville Road and took Perez-Cabral into custody.

Police said there has been a rash of similar crimes in the region lately.

They suggest anyone ordering electronics to use caution because criminals may be tracking the deliveries and planning to steal them when delivered.
