SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Southbury man was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday for possessing sawed-off shotguns.

Dozens of Southbury residents stranded after floods

Anthony Englehardt, 44, allegedly used a rifle to shoot a hole in the ceiling of a home in Torrington. At that time, he was under a protective order that required him to surrender all of his firearms and ammunition, according to police.

A search of his home found 10 firearms, six silencers, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition and various firearm parts and accessories. Many of those were unregistered.

He will also have to serve three years of probation after his release from prison.

It's amazing how many people like this idiot who are irresponsible with their firearms and have MANY. Rooms full of them. I'm fine with responsible gun ownership, I have them. But some people don't appreciate their right.
