Car struck officer in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A police officer is in stable condition after being hit by a vehicle this morning in Bridgeport.

The director of public information for the City of Bridgeport says the accident happened Sunday morning just after 2:00 at the intersection of Lincoln Ave. and Main St.

The injured officer was treated at a local hospital and is stable.

The suspect’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

No information on possible arrest has been shared, and the City of Bridgeport continues to investigate.
