1 Hospitalized and arrested after crash on the Merritt Parkway

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – One person was hospitalized and then arrested following a crash on the Merritt Parkway near Westport Sunday afternoon.

Connecticut State Police were investigating an accident that happened near the Clinton Avenue overpass Saturday in which three individuals exited one of the cars and fled the scene.

StatePolice confirmed that the vehicle involved in the accident was stolen from another jurisdiction. At 1:50 p.m. they contacted Westport and Norwalk Police who were able to apprehend one of the suspects quickly.

The suspect was suffering from injuries they received in the accident and they were transported to Norwalk Hospital.

Westport deployed drone and K9 units but were unable to locate the other two suspects.
