1 killed after crash on Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester

MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) – Manchester police say one person is has died after a crash on Buckland Hills Drive Sunday night.

Police responded to 233 Buckland Hills Drive on a report of a car crash around 8:30 p.m.

A driver, later identified as 19-year-old Makayla Theriaque, was traveling west and drove off the road hitting a tree. She was transported to a local trauma hospital and succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Police say Theriaque was from Vernon.

The road was closed in the area of 345 Buckland Hills Drive at the water tower but the road has since reopened.

The crash is under investigation by Manchester police.
