SEYMOUR, Conn. (WTNH) — A nonprofit organization and a Seymour church are teaming up to help victims of last weekend’s floods.

Team Inc. and Trinity Episcopal Church are accepting food, water and home goods to help those who were impacted by the historic flooding.

“We just had an outpouring of support from the community,” said Lillian McKenzie, the development and communications manager for Team Inc. “People wanted to know how they could help, and a lot of people had a lot of household items they wanted to donate.”

The church is serving as a hub for donations. The community began donating Sunday night — even though donations weren’t supposed to start until Monday.

The church is still accepting donations, including bottled water.
