NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police are investigating four shootings that happened between Sunday afternoon and early Monday morning — including one where a bullet went through a woman’s door and hit her in the face.

Police became aware of the first shooting at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday when a 35-year-old West Haven resident said he was shot on Elm Street in New Haven, according to police. He was taken to a hospital, and is expected to survive. Police believe that he was shot at Elm Street and Winthrop Avenue.

The next shooting happened at about 5:10 p.m. in the area of Edgewood Avenue and Garden Street, where someone fired shots at a tow truck driver, according to police. A 35-year-old woman who lives on Garden Street told officers that a bullet went through her door and hit her in the face. She is expected to survive.

At 9:45 p.m., police were sent to a hospital after hearing that a 41-year-old Branford resident was shot. Officers do not know where the shooting took place.

Then, at 4:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a hospital after hearing that a juvenile girl had been shot. She is also expected to survive, and police do not know where the shooting took place.

Later on Monday, a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg. Police said that two vehicles shot at each other by Route 30 Liquors. More than 20 shots were fired.
