    First in decades: Northern fur seal pup born at Mystic Aquarium

    MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — For the first time in 20 years, a Northern fur seal pup was born at the Mystic Aquarium this summer!

    Aquarium officials announced the July 31 birth on Monday.

    They said the male seal pup and his mom, Kivli, are both doing great.

    Last month, the aquarium held its largest seal release ever, drawing the largest crowd to a beach in Madison.

    Four grey seals are now back in the wild after recovering from various injuries.
