ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs in Rocky Hill announced Monday that it will receive federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to fully renovate 46 beds and living spaces in several housing units.

This will provide veterans and their families with safe, secure, and clean housing. The renovation work includes door and window replacements, new flooring, bathroom and kitchen remodeling, new furniture, landscaping and more.

“They will definitely enhance the quality of life of some of our service members and veterans during their darkest days when they find themselves desperate and, in some cases, homeless,” Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ron Welch said.

He said the housing project was a team effort, with support from local leaders, state lawmakers and other officials.

They hope to start the renovation work in December.

They better ONLY let veterans live there. NO illegal immigrants oops undocumented immigrants but somehow I have a feeling this won’t be the case.
