New Haven police find gunshot victim near Foxon Boulevard

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police say they located a 20-year-old gunshot wound victim Monday evening.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 390 block of Foxon Boulevard around 5:43 p.m.

Upon arrival, they located the gunshot wound victim, who was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers said they located ballistic evidence in the area, along with gunfire damage to a nearby restaurant and a passing vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information is asked to call detectives at 203-946-6304 or through the department’s anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).

New Haven police are also investigating four shootings that happened between Sunday afternoon and early Monday morning — including one where a bullet went through a woman’s door and hit her in the face.

How sad all of this is, every morning I am blessed to wake up!!! Thank God. When I get to reading the morning news, it’s all the same stuff, so & so was gunned down by so&so. Lady walking her dog or her kid to the bus for school, shot!!! It’s too much!!! So much hate, anger jealousy resentment etc. It’s never okay to take a life!!! Or bring harm to others. I’m going to pray 🙏🙏🙏 for all Gods people. Nothing is impossible with Jesus !!! Amen
