Oxford schools targeting September 5 as new first day of school

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Oxford Public Schools are now targeting Sept. 5 as a tentative first day of school, according to the superintendent.

School officials and representatives from All Star Transportation met on Wednesday to discuss bus logistics, as many roads in the town are still closed or have extreme damage from the historic flash flooding earlier this month. They are hoping to have bus routes solidified by the end of the week, Superintendent Robert Miller said in an email to the school community.

The district will continue to provide updates in the coming days.
