Tractor-trailer rollover crash causes delays on Universal Drive in North Haven

NORTH HAVEN (WTNH) — A tractor-trailer carrying scrap metal rolled over Friday morning on Universal Drive in North Haven, causing heavy delays.

According to the North Haven Fire Department, the tractor-trailer was carrying scrap metal and was making a turn onto Universal Drive near Montowese Avenue when it rolled onto its side and lost its load.

The area had reopened by 5:45 p.m.

The driver was uninjured, but the vehicle remained unstable and in the air, leaking hydraulic fluid onto the road.

Fire officials said units spread absorbent material to prevent the spill from entering storm drains.

No one was injured.
