    Middletown day care employee charged after assault investigation

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — 2 Middletown day care employees were arrested on Friday after an assault investigation.

    Middletown day care teacher accused of throwing 2-year-old ‘like luggage’

    Surveillance video earlier this year revealed several occasions where two teachers at Town & Country Early Learning Center were observed mishandling 2-year-old children under their care, according to police.

    Kristie Kovarcik, 48, was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor and three counts of reckless endangerment, according to police. The other suspect, 33-year-old Onima Rahman, was arrested on Aug. 22 for a felony risk of injury to a minor charge and two charges of reckless endangerment to a child.

    Kovarcik was held on a $30,000 bond.
