NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven nightclub that was the site of a shooting this weekend in New Haven cannot serve alcohol until further notice.

The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection has suspended NOA’s liquor license, the agency announced Tuesday.

“It is lucky that nobody was killed as a result of the gunshots fired at NOA by September in Bangkok over the weekend,” CTDCP Commissioner Bryan Cafferelli said in a written statement. “It is clear from this incident and others that NOA is operated in a way that threatens public health and safety for patrons and neighboring businesses in downtown New Haven. Thank you to the New Haven Police Department for their ongoing work to address issues at this establishment.”

Shots were fired Saturday at the nightclub. Someone was also stabbed there in November.

A complaint filed in December also accuses the club of pouring alcohol shots “directly into the mouths of patrons during parties,” according to the state. A minor was found inside the nightclub during a surprise inspection in January.

Video taken from a witness shows numerous men violently swinging back-to-back punches at one another. The altercation, surrounded by a huge crowd, spills onto Crown Street – appearing to block traffic.

Three people were arrested in connection to the fight. Police said three women may have been grazed by gunfire.
