WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — The new Linden Place Apartments opened in Waterbury on Tuesday, with 44 new mixed-income units coming to the Hillside neighborhood.

35 of those units are designated as “affordable,” something that the mayor said is a priority of his administration.

“There are currently hundreds of families who are on waiting lists throughout the city looking for quality housing, and this project will begin to make a dent into that shortage of rental properties,” Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski Jr said.

The development of this building was funded in part by the Connecticut Department of Housing and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.
