    Bristol restaurant reopens month after truck slams into it

    BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — A little over a month after a truck slammed into a Bristol restaurant, its owners announced they’re approved to reopen.

    Jimmy’s On The River said they were allowed to reopen Tuesday, Sept. 3.

    “Thank you everyone for the ongoing support, kind words, and donations during this tough time. We’re on the road to rebuild and can’t wait for the restaurant to be repaired,” the said in a Facebook post.

    Located on Terryville Road, the restaurant was already recovering from being hit in 2022, according to the business.

    At the time of the crash, the Bristol Fire Department said minor injuries were reported, but they did not specify how many people were injured or when the crash took place on Aug. 19.

    The restaurant has set up a GoFundMe to aid in their recovery.
