SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A gas main break has closed an offramp of Interstate 84 westbound Wednesday morning, according to Southbury police.

Officials said it was caused by a construction crew hitting the gas line. Eversource arrived at the scene this afternoon and the leak is now under control, but police are advising that people continue to avoid the area of 172 Lakeside and Main Street South for several more hours.
