NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A school in Norwich was placed in a soft lockdown Wednesday after bullets were found on school property, according to state police.

Troopers responded to Norwich Technical High at around 12:50 p.m. following the report of .22 caliber bullets being found on school property.

State police said who had these items and where they were found was unknown.

A spokesperson for the school said movement within the school during the soft lockdown was minimized, and the doors, which are locked anyway, were checked to ensure they were locked.

The school was placed in a soft lockdown, and a firearms detection K9 was dispatched to conduct a full sweep as an additional safety precaution.
