Catholic Diocese of Norwich filing reorganization plan

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)—The Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich is planning to reorganize and hopefully emerge from bankruptcy, according to a release from the organization.

Over a year ago, the diocese and the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (Committee) came to an agreement and planned to reorganize. However, the Committee abandoned the agreement in late June.

The diocese is now filing on its own with the support of various constituencies and funding sources.
