SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 24-year-old East Haven man was issued motor vehicle charges after crashing into a home Friday night in Southbury, says state police.

At 8:00 p.m., officials were called to a residence on 67 Munn Rd. for a motor vehicle accident. At the scene, first responders found a 2009 Nissan Sentra in the garage section of a home.

The investigation determined that the driver was traveling southbound on Bucks Hill Rd. when he failed to obey a stop sign at the Munn Rd. intersection, causing the vehicle to collide with the home’s garage.

The Nissan suffered severe front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene. The operator of the vehicle and all occupants in the home were unharmed.

The 24-year-old was given a misdemeanor summons for operating under suspension and failure to obey a stop sign.
