    Airplane suffers landing gear failure in Oxford

    OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people managed to extricate themselves after an airplane attempting to land had a gear failure in Oxford.

    On Sunday morning, the Oxford Fire Department arrived at the Waterbury-Oxford Airport at 300 Christian St. for an accident involving an airplane.

    Fire officials said the airplane slid into the grass median next to the runway due to a landing gear failure.

    Both occupants exited the airplane themselves and were unharmed.

    The incident is being led by the Connecticut Airport Authority.
