    Willimantic woman struck by motorcycle while walking dog

    WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman walking her dog Sunday was transported by LifeStar after being struck by a motorcycle.

    Willimantic police said they responded to the area of 50 Main St. around 6:30 p.m., where they found the woman in the middle of the road with a serious low extremity injury.

    Police said the 43-year-old Willimantic resident was crossing the street with her dog when she was struck by the passing motorcycle, which was heading eastbound.

    The motorcycle driver stayed on scene. Both the driver and a passenger refused medical care.

    It's not just the drivers. It's the pedestrians. It said she was crossing the street. If she was not on a crosswalk, then it is not the driver's fault. People will just walk right in front of your car without even looking nor caring who is on the road. Newsflash people: The road is made for motor vehicles. If you can not walk on the sidewalks, grass, crosswalks, then stay off the road. If you can not ride your bicycle in the correct lane and follow the traffic laws, appropriately stay off the road. In my opinion, bicycles shouldn't even be on the main roads. They do not have lights, mirrors or signals.
