    Body pulled from water near Ferry Street Bridge in New Haven

    Editor’s note: New Haven police initially said an unidentified white male was pulled from the river. This story has since been updated.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A body was pulled from the Quinnipiac River Tuesday morning near the Ferry Street Bridge in the Fair Haven section of New Haven.

    Police said a call came in around 7:35 a.m. about an unidentified Black female in the river.

    East Hartford police officer involved in crash on Burnside Avenue

    She has since been identified as 37-year-old Shannon Arrington, of New Haven.

    The medical examiner’s office will determine her cause and manner of death.
