NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn.) has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff Wednesday for the nearly 3,000 people who were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including 161 of whom had ties to Connecticut.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge, also known as the Q Bridge, on Interstate 95 in New Haven will be illuminated red, white and blue beginning at dusk on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Connecticut hosted its annual ceremony on Sept. 5 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Communities across Connecticut are planning to hold memorial services on Wednesday to remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
