ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Enfield police are looking for three suspects following a reported armed home invasion early Thursday morning.

Police said the incident happened at a home on the 50 block of Asnuntuck Street around 1:50 a.m.

Police said they saw three suspects fleeing the residence in a white Mercedes with Connecticut plates. As of 7:15 p.m., they are still searching for the vehicle.

According to police, the suspects nearly struck a police officer and several police cruisers while fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. The officer was not injured, and the cruisers were not damaged.

Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox said the home’s residents heard banging at their door before the suspects entered by breaking the glass pane on the side door. They went up to the third floor, where one of the residents saw them before retreating into a bedroom.

One of the suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and kicked the bedroom door, seemingly in an attempt to get in. Soon after, the suspects fled the scene.

Police said they found helpful evidence inside the home and are following leads to identify the suspects.

It is unknown if this home invasion was targeted, according to police.

Neighbor Ermel Sanchez said the situation left his family shaken.

“That lowkey scared me a little bit, cause my grandma woke up and the backyard all the porches are lined up with windows, so she said one of the windows was wide open … That made my heart drop a little bit I’m not going to lie,” he said.
