New Haven store owner found with over 50 pounds of ecstasy, fentanyl & marijuana

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police Wednesday arrested a suspect accused of having more than 50 pounds combined of ecstasy, fentanyl and marijuana in a store where he was not licensed to sell.

Peter Bush, 48, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell.

The charges stem from about 2 p.m. Wednesday, when officers were dispatched to TH3 Factory on Whalley Avenue to assist Department of Consumer Protection agents conducting a compliance check based off the store’s expired e-cigarette license.

During their inspection, the agents found a “large” amount of marijuana in display cases and a menu on the wall listing the THC content of different items.

When they found two large vacuum-sealed plastic bags of a green leaf-like substance believed to be marijuana, the inspection stopped and New Haven police were called.

A further search found over 18.5 pounds of pills in several bags, which Bush said were “E-pills.” They tested positive for a combination of MDMA (ecstasy) and fentanyl.

Investigators also found 35 pounds of loose marijuana and marijuana products.

Bush was released on a $1,000 bond.
